A A few years ago, the CIM Shipyard has decided to develop, in parallel with its historical activity for the construction of Great Yachts, a new department : the Division for SHIPS FOR PROFESSIONAL USE.

The essential idea is to offer to the shipowners, all the specifical advantages offered with the great catamarans built in GRP material, a well known technique. CIM Shipyard has created 3 ranges of ships for professional use. Among these advantages, there are for example : the importance of the available space, the great stability of the platform, the high longevity of the GRP construction, the weak requirements for propulsion power, the possibility to reach high speeds, the limitation of operation and maintenance costs.

	In order to complete its OCEAN VOYAGER catamarans range (day-charter catamarans) CIM shipyard conceived and realised a new 62’ light and fast catamaran model (18.70 meters) specially dedicated to the operators wishing to attract their customers around a new nautical activity.         The Ocean Voyager Fast 62’ is one of the 8 models of the OCEAN VOYAGER range and she can welcome 30 to 130 passengers further to the model. 	OCEAN VOYAGER RANGE offers today not less than 7 models (OCEAN VOYAGER 52’, 58’, 64’, 65’, 74’, 78’ and 82’) from 15.50 to 25 meters, is the best range of the world market for the day-charter operating (sailing half day or all day with a crew). Each model has its specifications dedicated to each type of operating. Many OCEAN VOYAGER catamarans are operated each day in teh world. 	OCEAN CRUISE range which offers 2 models, the OCEAN CRUISER 82’ (25 meters long) and the OCEAN CRUISER 98’ (30 meters long) is specifically  dedicated to the long-charter (1 or 2 weeks cruising with crew). The welcoming capacity of the OCEAN CRUISER can go from 4 to 10 double cabins, ie 8 to 20 passengers, further to the layout chosen and the performance leved offered by the Shipowner. 	In 2006 CIM Shipyard offers on the market a new range of motor-catamarans still built with GRP material requiring little maintenance : OCEAN VISION catamarans. This range exists in 3 sizes and 5 applications, and it uses new materials adapted to the exceptional dimension of these catamarans (22, 27 and 32 meters long). -  OCEAN VISION DISCOVERY for day cruising - OCEAN VISION EXPRESS designed for passenger transportation -  OCEAN VISION CARGO built for passenger/ freight transportation - OCEAN VISION CUSTOM "unlimited", however particularly designed for private owners who privilege pleasure use. - OCEAN VISION CRUISE designed for 1 or 2 weeks cruising (long charter)  They are innovatives but they use only technically proved solutions, high on water, with an important franc bord, with a pleasant design, fast but economic for operating and maintenance, many ship-owners specialized in the maritime service with operating range limited to one day at sea maximum are already interested in the OCEAN VISION catamarans.   See the "OCEAN VISION" range

	WATER TAXI  Besides its well known catamaran ranges for intensive professional use as OCEAN VOYAGER (day-charter / sailing), OCEAN CRUISER (long-charter / sailing) and OCEAN VISION (multipurpose / power), CIM Shipyard has designed, with the same advantages of solidity, reliability and reduced upkeep, a catamaran range especially for WATER TAXI use. WATER TAXI satisfies all demands of sea ferry operators for short travel willing to offer their passengers comfort and speed. WATER TAXI is designed for intensive professional use with low operating costs, and generates an important profitability. WATER TAXI comes in versions from 20 up to 25 meters in length with a transportation capacity of 50 to 150 passengers, according to the version. See the "WATER TAXI" range

	SUB EXPLORER To carry on with the famous OCEAN VOYAGER range the CIM Shipyard has developed a new idea : SUB EXPLORER a power catamarans range for Submarine vision. Available in 4 different sizes 16, 18, 20 and 24 meters to welcome from 28 to 48 pax dispatched on each submarine vision compartments and from 36 to 80 pax on the deck (in regards with the size). This new nautical support is both a catamaran and a submarine which allows passengers to watch landscapes from the deck and also to explore the submarine environment from one of the two dedicated areas. Using GRP material corrosion protected with a natural insulation allows commercial operation  of units with eased maintenance. With its mixed vocation this new type of catamarans allows the operators to be more innovative and competitive on their operating area. In 2001 the progression of the SHIP FOR PROFESSIONAL USE at the CIM Shipyard required the building of a new construction area (120 meters x 24 meters) on the Rochefort industrial site, specifically dedicated to the assembly of large catamarans.

· The OCEAN CRUISER and OCEAN VISION catamarans can also be offered with yacht standard for private use version. CIM Shipyards Study office can do a pilot study for the shipowner interested in a boat dedicated to a private use.
